Program Rules

Student requirements

To successfully complete the programme, all students must comply with the following special rules:

  • The student must complete all exams in due time;
  • The student must passed every exam with a mark not less than 24/30;
  • The student must achieve an average mark at the end of every year no less than 27/30.

Except for special cases listed in internal official regulation of the programme, a student not complying with the rules above is not allowed to complete the programme. Compliance with these rules is also requested to keep the scholarship (if the student is awarded with one).

A student that does not comply with the rules listed in point 1 can complete her/his education in Computer Science (Laurea Magistrale in Scienze dell’Informazione) at UniTN. The University will acknowledge all exams already passed. However, she/he will not be granted the Master in Engineering in Computer Engineering (Diploma di Formazione alla Ricerca in Computer Engineering) by SSSA.

All courses will be taught in English. Non-Italian students will also undertake courses on Italian culture and language. The programme is residential.

The programme has a duration of two academic years. Roughly half of the admitted students will spend their first year at the University of Trento, and their second year at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (in Pisa). The other half of the students will spend their first year in Pisa and the second year in Trento. Work towards the thesis will be jointly supervised and evaluated by two professors, one from each partner institution.
