The programme is the initiative of the Università di Trento and of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.

The Università di Trento

is a young, medium sized institution in a human-scale city that offers an excellent quality of life. The University of Trento has always aimed at reaching and keeping high quality standards and over the years has also been able to create a solid policy basis, aimed at delivering high quality services to its students and the territory. The result is a wide range of excellent courses, supported by a high-level scientific research profile, which achieved important confirmations at international level.

The Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna

The Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna is a public institution for university-level education. It offers opportunities for research and advanced undergraduate and graduate training in the fields of social sciences (economics and management, law, political science) and experimental sciences (engineering, medicine and agricultural science). The School was established on 14 February, 1987 as a “Scuola Superiore”, a special status, almost unique in the Italian academic system. The School is partly funded by the State in the framework of the Italian education system, and in conformity with the norms regulating the activities of universities and other higher education institutions. The Scuola offers training and postgraduate courses in Economics and Managerial Science, Law Science, Political Science, Agricultural Science and Biotechnology, Medical Science, and Industrial and Information Engineering.
Research carried out at the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna has led to an increasing number of top-level international collaborations. In addition, several agreements have been established between Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and various foreign universities leading to the development  of international Master's courses, seminars and congresses, as well as exchanges of students, professors and researchers. The Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna has also successfully carried out advanced forms of scientific and technological collaborations, creating Joint Research Laboratories with universities and research centres abroad.
Since its foundation the School has shown an outstanding capability to exploit alternative sources for funding. Advanced research and training are mostly supported by grants obtained on a competitive basis from external sources, both public and private. Several public agencies and private companies support the activities at the Scuola with donations.
